The event, hosted by the Economic Development Corporation of the Waterloo region, features a range of speakers who will discuss various aspects of the automotive transformation in progress.
Among the speakers are David Resnick, head of automotive at Google Canada, Ontario Minister of Transportation Steven Del Duca, futurist Juliette Powell and Michael Robinet, managing director at market researchers IHS Markit.
The conference program includes sessions on embedded security, smart cities, connected-car data, creative disruption and artificial intelligence in the car.
Waterloo, 100 km west of Toronto, is part of a growing cluster of high-tech companies that is developing products and services for the auto industry. Carmakers are looking for start-up companies worldwide to help develop increasingly important software-based systems.
