Daimler Financial Services is expanding its senior management team to focus more heavily on digital business models, especially in financing and mobility services.
The financial services arm of the German premium car group appointed Benedikt Schell as chief experience officer (CXO), a board-level position in charge of digital business models and the expansion of worldwide digital strategies for the division.
“Today, we offer a range of financial products and mobility services,” Schell said in a statement. “In the future, we want to create mobility experiences that fit consumers’ business and personal needs at any stage of their lives.”
Schell has worked for Daimler since 1999 in a variety of sales and marketing positions.
Daimler’s finance unit also added Joerg Lamparter, head of the group’s car-sharing and mobility services unit Moovel, to its management board. Lamparter already oversaw a range of new business areas for the Daimler Group, including car2go, mytaxi and relatively recent partnerships with outside companies.
Both Schell and Lamparter will report directly to DFS CEO Klaus Entenmann.
