Racecar maker Ferrari will migrate its information systems to Infor’s ERP LN enterprise resource management (ERP) software.
The US-based company said the migration from a Baan IV system is expected to be completed this summer. Baan is also part of Infor, a US-based provider of business application software.
Ferrari adopted ERP Baan IV software for its production processes in 1998 and has over the years adapted it to meet its changing business requirements. But in July 2010, after several months of evaluation, the Italian carmaker decided a change was needed.
Infor said its ERP LN software provides the flexibility and technical ability to handle the large number of customizations clients such as Ferrari require.
Enza Fumarola, an Infor vice president, said in a statement the software will play a major role in all steps of Ferrari’s production process, “from production planning to process management, cost and quality.”
