Mazda will unveil a new CX-5 compact crossover it says will be the first of a new generation of vehicles from the Japanese carmaker.
At next week’s Frankfurt auto show (IAA), Mazda will show a CX-5 with a new chassis, body, engine and transmission built around the company’s new “Skyactiv” technology.
Mazda is targeting CO2 emissions of less than 120grams/km with its new model.
The engine line-up for the European specification CX-5 will include Mazda’s SKYACTIV-G 2.0 gasoline engine and SKYACTIV-D 2.2 diesel engine.
Mazda said the new CX-5 will also be the first production model to showcase the company’s new design theme, which is called Kodo – Soul of Motion.
