Visteon Asia Pacific and China’s ZongMu Technology have confirmed their cooperation to jointly develop autonomous driving technologies from Level 3 upward. A self-parking solution integrating Visteon’s DriveCore autonomous driving platform and ZongMu’s autonomous parking system [pictured] is the first product announced.
The Visteon DriveCore platform comprises hardware, in-vehicle ‘middleware’ and PC-based software toolsets to develop machine learning algorithms. It gives a scalable domain controller to integrate data from multiple camera, LiDAR and radar sensors.
ZongMu’s range of ADAS and parking products includes automatic, remote and autonomous parking, high-definition panoramic assistance and warning systems. It is developing an automatic parking valet-style service in which a vehicle can arrive at a designated area to pick up its driver, along with wireless EV charging, parking space reservation, indoor positioning and queue technology in its ‘car + AI’ approach, which incorporates sensor fusion, neural networks and crowdsourced data.
Founder and CEO of ZongMu Tang Rui said in a statement: “We look forward to collaborating with Visteon, following a pragmatic and creative approach to further define the product and rigorously create a viable Level 4 autonomous driving product application.”
