Renault said the ZOE will be launched at the end of 2012, with first orders for the small electric car to be taken after the close of the Paris auto show in October.
The French carmaker said the ZOE will be its fourth electric vehicle, joining the Fluence ZE, Kangoo ZE and Twizy in Renault’s EV stable.
The brand’s share of the global EV market stood at 30 pc at the end of May, while in Europe it had 54 pc market share, Renault said.
Prices for the Renault Zoe will start at 15,700 euros, Renault said in March. Battery lease prices, which are separate from the purchase price, will start at 70 euros a month under a three-year contract that covers 12,500 km a year.
The Zoe will be equipped with the R-Link multimedia tablet, a battery charger and automatic climate control. The R-Link multimedia interface will use a 7-inch touchscreen display with speech recognition available to control several key functions. These include Carminat TomTom Live navigation, electric vehicle driving guidance and an audio system.
