Consumer confidence in Germany rose in the third quarter of 2010, boosting especially the auto industry and the IT sector.
The quarterly GPRA consumer confidence index showed that confidence in the car industry rose 1.3 percentage points to 45.7 points. The industry benefited from product innovation and a stabilization of the market.
The IT industry overtook the food sector in the consumer confidence index, rising 1.8 percentage points to 43.3 points. IT companies benefited from the consolidation of the market and from product innovation throughout the German industry, GPRA said.
GPRA is the German association of PR agencies. It publishes the quarterly index together with research company TNS-Emnid.
