china transinfoChina Transinfo said it has signed a real-time traffic information agreement with Lianong Mobile covering the cities of Shenzhen, Chongqing, Chengdu, Dalian and Wuhan.

The Chinese provider of transportation and traffic information services said its Yootu subsidiary will provide real-time traffic information to be transmitted directly into China Mobile's real-time traffic information processing platform.

China Mobile will then provide its users with a range of location-based services based on the information.

Liaoning Mobile designs, researches and develops location-based communications information products for all China Mobile users

Shudong Xia, chairman and CEO of China TransInfo, said the agreement was important because it gives his company a stronger position in the fast-growing market for traffic information services.

“We will continue to optimize our technology, enhance our data quality, and improve our products to capture our share of the expected explosive growth of traffic information services in the consumer market," he said in a press statement.

China Transinfo wants to become the largest provider of real-time transportation information and fleet management services in China
