BMW has reorganized its financial records, bringing all data together in one central archive that can be accessed directly from the company's SAP systems.
KGS Software, a provider of SAP interface and archiving software, said it implemented the project at the German premium car maker together with information management specialist fme AG.
The integration into SAP means no further client components need to be rolled out. To see documents, BMW staff can use the SAP document viewer and users can manage financial documents without leaving the applications they are working in at the time.
The software is also capable of handling external records and linking them to SAP.
The new software was rolled out in the course of two weeks in 2012. BMW migrated 100 million old documents to the new program.
