The event, which is held every other year, provides a meeting place for the global auto industry, with special focus on innovations and solutions in the fields of parts, systems, tuning, workshop equipment, bodywork & paintwork, car wash and IT & management.
In 2012, Automechanika, like many other automotive fairs, will provide exhibitors with an opportunity to focus on new mobility.
"No other event covers this area across the entire value chain," the fair's organizers, Messe Frankfurt, said in a press release. "Numerous exhibitors will present innovative solutions in the fields of original equipment, refitting, vehicle and cargo accessories, disposal and recycling."
In 2010, the last time the Automechanika fair was held in Frankfurt, there were 4,471 exhibitors and 155,000 visitors from 181 countries. For the 2012 show, Messe Frankfurt said in November that 85 pc of the space available had been booked.
Automechanika has spread its wings to organize related fairs across 10 countries. Automechanika fairs take place in Buenos Aires, Dubai, Istanbul, Mexico, Moscow, Shanghai and several other major cities.
