vw.automotiveITVolkswagen recently opened a new data lab in the trendy Schwabing section of Munich.

automotiveIT's Hilmar Dunker paid a visit and discovered a research facility with a singular focus on implementing digital innovations across the VW Group.

The young team led by Schaurecker is working on more than 10 projects and the list is expected to get longer.

The researchers are working according to the "design thinking" philosophy, which combines methodologies from engineering with experimental aspects from the teaching of design.
