AutoScout24 is the first customer to use a new cloud-based product offering from Germany's T-Systems and US-based VMWare.

The two companies announced in June that they would jointly offer customers a flexible data-center service that would let them upgrade internal IT resources quickly and easily.

T-Systems is the business services arm of Germany's Telekom, while VMware is a leading US virtualization and cloud infrastructure group.

Autoscout24, Europe's largest internet car portal, said it needed a flexible IT solution, because its markets change on a daily basiss.

"The joint offering from VMware and T-Systems enables us to move spare capacity between the private cloud and the hybrid cloud as required.” said Joachim Rath, head of IT production at Autoscout24.
