Robert Bosch has opened a new 104,000 square-foot Research and Technology Center (RTC) in Sunnyvale, California, in a move to further strengthen the German automotive supplier group's ties with the regional high-tech industry.

Bosch said the 40 million dlr facility is home to 200 team members, a number that can grow to 300 over time.

The company has been present in Silicon Valley for the past 20 years. The California base has allowed it to develop close collaboration with top universities and high-tech industry partners, which has helped develop key technologies such as artificial intelligence, human-machine interaction, automated driving systems, robotics, advanced circuits and sensors.
