Robert Bosch has released a new version of its Esitronic workshop software, which it says is faster and easier to operate.
In addition, the German automotive supplier said it is working on an online version of the software, scheduled for launch later this year.
The new Esitronic 2.0gives the user immediate access to vehicle diagnosis, while its system search provides a clear overview of all control units and stored errors.
The software package for passenger cars and trucks now runs on a single standardized interface and updates are provided online.
Bosch said some 75,000 vehicle workshops in more than 100 countries use the software package, which is available in 24 different languages. The software includes diagnostics data and troubleshooting instructions, repair instructions, test values and work units, as well as wiring diagrams, service schedules and technical data.
In the planned online version of Esitronic, customers will be able to access data that are continuously updated. In addition, Bosch plans to make available product expansions online.
