The Business Software Alliance has a new name and a new logo. The business software advocacy group is now just called "BSA/The Software Alliance."

The organization, which was founded 24 years ago, is the leading global lobbying group for the software industry. It has changed its focus from business software to all software, "because the benefits of software innovation extend into every aspect of modern life,” said BSA President and CEO Robert Holleyman.

The association has  expanded its anti-piracy programs and has renewed its focus on identifying new strategic opportunities," Holleyman said.

"That entails protecting the intellectual property rights that spur technology innovation, breaking down emerging trade barriers, and advancing policies that will help the global cloud computing market flourish,” he said in a press release.
