Dassault Systemes said it has agreed to buy 84 pc of Munich-based RTT for a reported 179 million euros.

The Paris-based product lifecycle management software group said RTT, which is a leader in 3D visualization software, will add a key strength to Dassault's offer of an integrated set of PLM solutions.

"Our clients express a growing need to fully exploit their 3D digital assets, to transform their marketing and sales as part of their ultimate customer experience," said Bernard Charlès, CEO of Dassault Systemes.

RTT makes DeltaGen, PictureBook, POS Configurator and other software. Most automakers use one or another of RTT's services. Said Dassault's executive vice president, industry & marketing, Monica Menghini: "Dassault Systemes values the software and service portfolio that RTT will bring to our 3DEXPERIENCE strategy because 3D marketing, interactive movies and catalog generators represent the hallmark of successful marketers in the age of experience.”

RTT Co-founder and CEO Ludwig Fuchs said Dassault's 3D products fit well with RTT's visualization software. "Combining our respective solution portfolios and service expertise will be a milestone for industry business transformation," he said.
