Delphi  is making NXP one of its strategic core suppliers as it extends a long-term relationship in automotive electronics.

NXP, a Netherlands-based semiconductor group, said a recently signed new agreement with Delphi encompasses a range of automotive semicondocutor applications including infotainment and networking products.

Under the pact, Delphi, a major US-based automotive supplier, will start integrating NXP's SAF775x family of single-chip multituner car radio and AM/FM background tuner products, in addition to its use of other software-defined radio systems produced by NXP.

"Through this collaboration agreement, we can work to develop and manufacture electronics that are ever smarter, smaller, lighter and more efficient," said Troy Zerbe, vice president of global supply management for Delphi’s Electronics & Safety division.
