The annual EV Battery Tech conference will take place in London Feb 28 and 29, 2012.

The two-day gathering will focus onprogress made in reducing the costs of electric-vehicle battery systems. A series of industry speakers will look at the latest developments.

Key automaker speakers include Kazuo Yajima, head of Nissan’s global battery business, and Thierry Koskas, program director of Renault's electric-vehicle program. Ian Allen, manager environmental strategy & Ampera launch at Opel/Vauxhall, will discuss the carmaker's experiences with its new EV.

Senior specialists from Toyota, Porsche Engineering, Jaguar Land Rover and Aston Martin will also brief conference participants on their EV activities.

On the first day of the conference, speakers will provide models to drive cost reduction. Topics of discussion will include improving batteries' energy density, power, range & longevity.

On the second day, the discussion will focus on industry collaboration, standardization and future battery technology. A range of high-level panels will discuss topics such as testing capabilities, post Lithium-Ion technology, and the latest research institution developments.
