Ford Motor appointed Jeff Lemmer CIO, succeeding Marcy Klevorn, who assumed broader mobility responsibilities last year.
Lemmer, who currently serves as vice president and chief operating officer of information technology, will take up his new role June 1. He has spent his entire career at Ford, serving in a range of IT leadership positions at the automaker.
In his latest position, he supervised the development of automotive-related applications and ran day-to-day operations
He also oversaw the design and construction of two new Ford data centers and was instrumental in making the company’s IT organization more product-driven.
Lemmer’s leadership “improved the organization’s customer centricity, ensured they delivered at market speed and created a vibrant workplace,” Ford said in a press release.
In his new role as CIO, Lemmer will oversee global IT business applications, architecture, data centers, engineering and infrastructure services.
Lemmer will report to Klevorn, who for the past year has served as president, mobility, at Ford.
