Ford CEO Alan Mulally, underlining the growing importance of consumer electronics for the auto industry, will deliver a keynote address at the IFA trade show in Berlin September 6.
IFA, which is one of the world's biggest consumer electronics and home appliances gatherings, will kick off September 4 with a press day. The show runs through Sept 11.
Ford said Mullally's address will highlight the US carmaker's commitment to make cars safer through enhanced connectivity. The Ford boss will also provide an update on plans to bring Ford's Sync with AppLink connectivity to Europe later this year. And he is expected to unveil a new concept vehicle designed to showcase some of the carmaker's newest technologies
The IFA trade show, which focuses on digital products such as smart TVs, tablet computers, smartphones and networked home appliances, takes place just before the Frankfurt auto show (IAA), which starts with two press days Sept 10 and 11.
