geneva show.automotiveITThe 83rd Geneva auto show will, once again, pay particular attention to green technology, dedicating an entire section to alternative-energy-powered vehicles.

The annual show, which starts with two press days March 5 and 6 and runs through March 17, will feature at least 100 premieres of new vehicles.

The organizers say that about 10 pc of all cars shown in Geneva will have CO2 emissions of 100 grams/km or less.

"It is clearly evident that these vehicles are now completely integrated into the product offerings of the manufacturers," said Maurice Turrettini, president of the Geneva show.

The organizers plan to publish a special brochure describing all cars that offer alternative propulsion systems or have low CO2 emissions.

The Palexpo exhibition halls near Geneva airport have been expanded, adding about 5,000 square meters of space. One of the automakers taking up this space will  be China's Qoros, which is making its European debut in Geneva
