German machine-tool maker Trumpf has chosen the Pool4tool portal to improve its management of supplier relations.

ESolutions from Pool4tool, an Austrian specialist for eBusiness and SAP software solutions, is used as a Cloud-based service. The processes are fully integrated into Trumpf's SAP system.

Trumpf's main goal in implementing Pool4tool was to reduce the work that goes into order processing with suppliers. The company's current self-managed EDI solution has been fully replaced and existing EDI connections with suppliers were transferred to the new software.

"One of the notable advantages is that structured information can flow easily with better data-quality and timely and secure processes," said Thomas Seiler, IT manager at Trumpf. This will provide options to standardize, integrate and optimize various processes run by suppliers," he added.

Pool4tool also handles the entire complaint process, from first notification to information provision and confirmation to final evaluation.

Said Michael D’Alessandro, who is responsible for central purchasing at TRUMPF: "The supplier portal is the data hub where a lot of internal information comes together, but it is also the central zone for communication with our suppliers.”
