gm-logoGeneral Motors has extended three application management contracts with consultants Capgemini.

The five-year agreements cover work done with GM’s global sales, service and marketing, and purchasing and supply chain divisions for a total value of 100 million dlrs.

Capgemini will work with GM’s Information Technology organization to provide a range of services, including strategic planning, data management and system and software engineering.

In a statement, GM CIO Terry Kline called Capgemini’s services a “key support element” in his department’s drive to innovate and meet the requirements of the automaker’s business.

The renewed contracts mean Capgemini will continue to support GM’s “Next Generation Systems Factory Operating Model.” The project aims to standardize processes for application management and developscommon, integrated standards-based solutions.
