Harman said it will provide a new infotainment system to Volkswagen group in a contract valued at 400 million dlrs.
The US-based maker of premium audio and infotainment systems said the contract is an extension of the business relationship it already has with the German automaker.
In December, 2010, VW and Harman agreed on a 1.2 billion dlr six-year contract to provide next-generation infotainment systems for new VW Group platforms.
Separately, Harman said it will provide a branded premium audio system to Changan Motors in its first agreement with a Chinese carmaker.
Harman will also develop an infotainment platform for Changan's new mid-sized luxury sedan, the CD101.
The agreement with VW means Harman will extend its next-generation infotainment products to further VW car lines in 2015. It will also extend another agreement covering a high infotainment system and will start offering a new infotainment head unit variant launching in 2013.
