Oliver Bahns has moved from HP to T-Systems to take charge of the German telecommunications consultants' global automotive connectivity business.

Bahns, who has been global director automotive & aerospace at HP since 2008, is taking over as T-Systems senior vice president from Heinz Egeler, who for the past six months has held the position on an interim basis.

The former HP executive will take responsibility for the global connected car and next-generation mobility business of T-Systems.

Bahns began his career at Germany's Fraunhofer research institute and later held several management-consultant and business-development positions at debis Systemhaus, a Daimler IT services group that became part of T-Systems after 2000.
