Jaguar Land Rover will use Dassault Systemes product lifecycle management software to increase operational efficiency and reduce complexity in its development.
Dassault Systemes, a French maker of CAD and PLM software said Jaguar Land Rover will deploy its V6 software for PLM management, the process that drives and controls all vehicle creation processes.
Dassault said it was chosen by Jaguar Land Rover as its preferred partner after an 18 month evaluation period. The two companies will work together on new processes and solutions for a new generation of premium vehicles.
Jaguar Land Rover will use the full range of Dassault’s V6 solutions, including ENOVIA, CATIA, DELMIA, SIMULIA, and 3DVIA PLM 2.0.
Dassault Systemes President and CEO Bernard Charles said, in a press release that his company’s software will bring specific advantages in the area of electronics. ”Integrating electronics and onboard software has become a critical element of differentiation for a great vehicle experience,” he said.
Jaguar Land Rover CEO Ralf Speth said he expected Dassault to “bring significant technical and commercial benefits” by helping his company develop and create vehicles more efficiently.
Jaguar Land Rover is part of India’s Tata Motors.
