Klaus Bluem, until recently CIO at MAN Energy Solutions, is the new chief information officer at Czech carmaker Skoda.
Bluem succeeded Ralf Brunken, who is assuming other responsibilities within the Volkswagen Group. Both Skoda and MAN are subsidiaries of Volkswagen.
Earlier in his career, Bluem, who studied economics and business at Germany’s Heidelberg University, worked at electronics company ebm-papst and consultants DSC.
Brunken held various IT positions within the VW Group and was CIO of supplier Continental’s automotive division between 2009 and 2011.
According to German press reports, Brunken will become head of the Volkswagen University, an internal think tank, continuous education company and conference organizer that focuses on future technologies.
