According to LG, its digital vehicle platform is a key growth engine for the business. LG will incorporate Microsoft’s AI technology into its ADAS system and intelligent camera products.
Microsoft Azure cloud services will host LG’s Data Box service. It will store data captured on the road to help the self-driving software get smarter.
“The combination of Microsoft’s cloud infrastructure with LG’s automotive components business will speed up the self-driving auto industry,” said Kim Jin-yong, president of LG’s Vehicle Component Solutions Company.
LG claims that complex road and traffic patterns in cities would take only minutes to learn with AI on Azure. It adds that Azure can help autonomous software learn diverse driving patterns as well distinguish between pedestrians and other objects.
