Nissan no longer shares a CIO with alliance partner Renault (Photo: Nissan)
Nissan Motor has appointed Anthony Thomas CIO of the Japanese brand, filling a position vacated by Celso Guiotoko earlier this year.
Thomas most recently served as CIO of GE Global and previously also worked at mobile phone group Vodafone as its India CIO.
Guiotoko used to be CIO of Nissan, its alliance partner Renault and of the Renault-Nissan Alliance. At Renault, Frederic Vincent has taken over as CIO. The alliance doesn't have a separate CIO, a spokeswoman said.
The appointment of Thomas means the two alliance partners no longer share a CIO.
Guiotoko, who was appointed a statutory auditor of Nissan in June, said in an interview in 2015 that the two brands maintained separate IT organizations but were working closely together in several areas..
At GE Global, Thomas, the new Nissan CIO, worked closely with all GE divisions outside the US. He also served as CIO for GE South Asia.
