Rainer Mehl, previously head of manufacturing at consultants NTT Data, has joined Capgemini as senior vice president and head of digital operations for Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
The 52-year-old, who is based in Munich, joins Capgemini's German country board and will focus on advising customers in the automotive industry.
Mehl has wide-ranging experience advising customers onÂ the digital transformation taking place in the carÂ industry and in other manufacturing sectors.
"With his deep industry expertise and his sound knowledge of digital assets, Rainer Mehl will support the services portfolio of the Capgemini Group from strategy consulting to innovative technology solutions," said Volkmar Varnhagen, CEO of Capgemini Consulting for Germany, Switzerland and Austria.
Before joining Capgemini, Mehl was instrumental in growing NTT Data's global automotive business. Earlier, heÂ worked at consultants PwC and at IBM.
Mehl was succeeded at NTT Data by Jens-Uwe Holz, who joined the Japanese owned consultants from France's Atos.
