Nvidia hosts its annual GTC Technology Conference, a forum for the global GPU development community, in San Jose, California, May 8 through 11.

The chipmaker, which plays a growing role as a provider of high-powered systems and computing engines for next-generation vehicles, has announced an agenda for the gathering, which will focus heavily on artificial intelligence and deep learning, virtual reality, and self-driving cars.

GTC traditionally features a keynote address by CEO and company co-founder Jen-Hsun Huang, but several senior auto-industry executives will also speak at the meeting.  Last year, Gill Pratt, head of the Toyota Research Institute (TRI) and a specialist in artificial intelligence, was one of the featured speakers.

Nvidia last year hosted a GPU conference in Amsterdam in September. It was one of eight similar worldwide events.
