Siemens PLM has released the latest version of its NX CAD/CAM software package, claiming the product will provide more flexibility and reduce time to market for the products it will help design and engineer.
The Germany-based engineering group said NX 8.5 has a range of new features that, to a major extent reflect feedback received from customers.
"The extensive customer-driven enhancements and new capabilities in NX 8.5 will help our customers further reduce time to market and facilitate smarter decisions that result in better products,” said Jim Rusk, Siemens PLM Software's senior vice president, product engineering software.
Rusk said in a press release that NX 8.5 reinforces Siemens' commitment to high-definition visualization. Moreover, the latest version of the software is fully compatible with previous releases, he said.
Siemens said NX 8.5 features new design commands that will help shorten design cycle times by up to 30 pc. In the area of simulation, a range of improvements will allow more accurate analysis models and will speed solution time by as much as 25 pc, the company said.
The manufacturing component of NX 8.5 provides faster programming times and new functions to support and automate multi-part and multi-stage machining.
NX 8.5 is expected to be available in October.
