Telematics Update will hold its Munich conference Nov. 9-10 against a backdrop of strong growth in connected-vehicle-related technologies.

The annual event will look at the next wave of innovation coming to the navigation and infotainment market. It will also discuss the implementation of eCall in Europe. And it will look at the changing relationships between automakers and IT suppliers.

In addition, presentations will focus on new-mobility issues, including the role of telematics in the burgeoning electric-vehicle industry and the changing models of car usage.

The two-day event will feature a broad range of speakers from virtually all major automakers and IT suppliers, including BMW, Audi, PSA/Peugeot-Citroen, Volvo and Nissan.

Car companies have been putting more emphasis on their telematics offerings as connecting the car is quickly becoming a requirement for today's drivers. The continued growth of social networking, coupled with declining automotive appetite among many younger people is also driving the explosive growth in sophisticated in-car infotainment.
