The 2013 Tokyo Motor Show will be held at the Tokyo Big Sight exhibition center November 20 through December 1. The show, which has as its theme "Compete! And shape a new future," will start with two press days November 20 and 21. It opens to the public Friday, November 22.
The event traditionally features a wide range of innovative concept cars. Toyota, Japan's biggest automaker, will display five concept vehicles that offer its vision of future mobility. Toyota said the concepts, which include a fuel-cell vehicle and a next-generation taxi, will underscore the "joy of driving."
This year's Tokyo Motor show will pay particular attention to new mobility concepts designed for growing metropolitan areas. A special exhibition called "Smart Mobility City 2013" will showcase new technologies, systems and services as well as next-generation vehicles that demonstrate how mobility and social systems can come together in tomorrow's cities.
