Toyota Germany is replacing its dealer management system. The company is using the LAMP open source tools to develop the new system. It will also deploy the SCRUM process-automotion tool in the project.
The new DMS will be used by Toyota's German sales arm as well as by its German financial-services and insurance operations.
The project will be concluded in October, 2011 and rollout is planned for April, 2012. Insiders say otherEuropean Toyota subsidiaries have already expressed an interest in the system.
Toyota Germany IT boss Georg Molinari will provide more details on the new DMS when he speaks at the automotiveDAY conference in Hanover March 3. automotiveDAY is the foremost automotive IT conference. The event is organized by automotiveIT every year during the CEBIT trade show for the digital industry.
