Webasto is upgrading its PLM systems to Catia V6 from V5, software consultancy Cenit said.
The upgrade will allow the Germany-based automotive roof specialist to manage all licenses held by its global units centrally
Bernd Goellnitz, IT director at Webasto, said in a press release that the company attaches great importance to "the flexible worldwide use of the V6 technology."
Catia is the flagship product lifecycle management software made by France-based Dassault Systemes. The Webasto upgrade is managed by Cenit, which specializes in optimization of digital product development and production.
Cenit board member Kurt Bengel said the Webasto upgrade is "one of the biggest V6 projects worldwide."
Separately, Dassault announced this week the latest release of its V6 Release 2013. The latest release of its so-called "3DEXPERIENCE" platform includes new xCAD file converters, newly published APIs in robots, ergonomics and machining; and addition xPDM interfaces, including several with SAP software.
