Yanfeng Automotive Interiors (YFAI) has joined the Plug and Play innovation platform, which describes itself as ‘Silicon Valley in a box’: its network brings together start-ups, investors, corporations and key stakeholders. Specific benefits for YFAI will be in areas including proof of concept tests, pilot projects and deal flow sessions with start-ups, it believes.

“This is an unprecedented time in the automotive industry. We believe the [vehicle] interior is where the mobility revolution will have the most significant impact. Working with Plug and Play and their partners is critical to give us further access to disruptive technology and start-ups globally to accelerate the pace,” says Han Hendriks, chief technology officer, YFAI, in a statement.

Saeed Amidi, founder and CEO of Plug and Play, adds: “Yanfeng Automotive Interiors brings a fresh perspective to our ecosystem. They redefine how drivers interact with the inside of their vehicles and by working with start-ups, they will be able to further impact the user experience. We look forward to introducing them to new technology that supports their mission.”
