The third open AUTOSAR conference will take place  May 11 in Frankfurt.

The one-day gathering features presentations by executives of BMW, Volkswagen, Renault, PSA/Peugeot-Citroen, Bosch, Continental, Valeo and other companies.

VW's Bernd Kunkel will discuss how AUTOSAR initiatives are implemented at core car-company members of the development partnership.

Continental's Khosrau Heidary will present the main AUTOSAR goals for the 2010-2012 period. He will focus in particular on how application interfaces are standardized and how AUTOSAR is dealing with the issue of backward compatibility.

AUTOSAR, which stands for Automotive Open System Architecture, is a worldwide development partnership of carmakers, suppliers and companies from the electronics, semiconductor and software industries. The group strives to build a standardized software architecture for the auto industry.
