BMW said it would show a new in-car entertainment system for its Mini brand at next week’s Detroit auto show.
The German premium carmaker said Mini Connected will feature a new USB interface that adds special and new functionality. In particular, Mini Connected will maximize the integration of Apple’s iPhone into the car’s audio and infotainment system.
The system will have a web radio function, will allow Google local searches and will let users receive RSS news feeds. In addition, Mini Connected can display Twitter and Facebook posts on the on-board monitor.Text messaging is also included.
The additional functions are activated and operated via the on-board control system.
