Siemens said China’s Desay SV will adopt its product lifecycle management (PLM) software, as the automotive electronics supplier prepares to implement new manufacturing technologies.

Desay Chairman Tan Choon Lim said in a press statement that the software “will enable us to implement a unified solution for project management, 3D modeling, collaboration, quality and manufacturing.”

Desay will use Siemens PLM software to transform the company into a so-called “digital enterprise,” he said.

The software lets companies build a “digital twin” for their products. These virtual representations allow engineers to test physical and performance characteristics of a product from conception through manufacturing to end use.

Leo Liang, head of Siemens PLM Software for Greater China, said automotive electronics suppliers are operating in “an exploding market,” whose requirements are changing rapidly. He said his company will work with Desay to establish “a benchmark of digital manufacturing in the automotive electronics industry.”

Based in Huizhou, about 70 km north of Shenzhen, Desay supplies electronics to more than 60 car manufacturers.
