The Geneva Auto Show will start Tuesday, March 3 with two press days before officially opening its doors to the public Thursday, March 5.

The annual event, held at the Palexpo convention center near Geneva airport, takes place against a backdrop of recovering European auto sales. In 2014, European passenger car unit sales rose 5.7 pc, marking the first time in several years that the market advanced again.

Among the biggest  international auto shows Geneva stands out because it isn't held in a country with significant car production. Hence, the show tends to see equal representation from US, German and French carmakers, with a host of smaller specialist brands represented as well.

The show organizers said this year's event, like every year, will feature a range of new production models and a large selection of concept cars and design studies.
