The Insurance Telematics USA 2012 conference will focus on one of the fastest-growing business areas involving connected cars.

The conference, which will be held at the Radisson Blu Aqua Hotel in Chicago September 5-6 will look at how usage-based insurance helps insurers develop new products and services; what kind of regulatory factors play a role in the industry; how the technology works; and what kind of privacy issues need to be dealt with.

The two-day conference, which is expected to draw more than 450 delegates, will feature a range of speakers from the automotive, insurance and telematics industries.

Scheduled to present their views are, among others, Bill Frykman, manager business & product development at Ford Motor; James Noble, business director, motor fleet at Zurich Services Corp; John Inquimboy, associate product manager at eSurance; Dean Collins, third-party data-business insurance manager at Travelers; Gary Streelman, program manager at automotive supplier Magneti Marelli; Kevin Henderson, director of business development at Trimble; and Art Silkey, director product development at Best Buy.
