In a review of 12 leading application management software providers, Pierre Audoin Consultants(PAC) awarded good grades to each of them. However, the technology consultants said none of the providers stood out in all 50 categories it assessed.

The so-called PAC RADAR evaluated Accenture, All for One, Atos Origin, Capgemini, Ciber, GFT, IBM, Logica, Mahindra Satyam, Siemens IT Solutions and Services, T-Systems and TDS, a Fujitsu Company. These 12 make up about 41 percent of the German market for application-management services, which is estimated at 2.7 billion euros.

PAC found that all service providers in Germany offered high-quality services. Out of the 12 that participated in the survey, five were classified as “best in class,” six were rated “excellent" and one provider was in the “strong” category.

PAC Analyst Philipp Schalla said different service providers focus on different categories of customers. “The individual strengths and weaknesses of the companies result from their broad range of core competencies,” he said.

PAC Director Klaus Holzhauser cited sizeable differences in near- and offshore resources provided. But he added: “With regard to the service offering, all provide a nearly full range of first and second-level support all the way to end-of-life planning.”
