Denso has announced a partnership with Plug and Play, and will work with its network of start-ups to accelerate developments in connectivity, autonomous driving, shared mobility and electrification. Plug and Play is now operating in 26 global locations, connecting start-ups and industry stakeholders; Plug and Play Japan has already partnered with the Japan-based Denso Corporation division.

“While we’ve been more self-sufficient in the past, Denso is embracing open innovation to bolster our technology portfolio to keep pace with the rapid changes in the automotive industry,” said Bill Foy, senior VP of engineering at Denso’s North American headquarters. “We’re thrilled to join the Plug and Play platform, so we can strategically evaluate new partners and opportunities that allow us to quickly and flexibly develop unique solutions that meet the needs of our customers.”

Denso has also recently joined the Automotive Work Group of the HDBaseT Alliance, an organisation working to set the HDBaseT standard for wired connectivity and the multi-GB transmission of video, audio, ethernet, data, USB, other controls and power using specific cabling types. The Work Group is developing and establishing the standard for applications including identification and mapping of infotainment, ADAS, cybersecurity and networking requirements.
